It is Liège-Bastogne-Liège, first held in 1892 and the oldest of the Classics. In French, La Doyenne refers to the oldest, most authoritative and most experienced woman within a community, a profession or an entire world. It is this name, and everything it represents, that Fondriest has chosen for its new e-bike: Doyenn-e.

The choice is anything but random. On the roads of this race, Maurizio Fondriest wrote some of the most intense chapters of his career, taking on, year after year, a course that offers no concessions and ultimately selects those with the experience to truly master it. From that history comes a tradition that the brand continues to embrace consistently: naming its models after the achievements that have defined the sporting journey of the man whose surname the brand still carries today.

And so Doyenn-e was born: a name that is both a tribute and a statement of intent, because a “doyenne” is expected to embody authority, solidity and the ability to rise to the challenge of whatever road lies ahead.

Doyenn-e is built around a 6061 Triple Butted aluminium frame, but with a level of attention to detail that goes beyond the standards of its category. One example is the seatpost clamp with an integrated expander, a solution typically reserved for carbon frames and adopted here to ensure a clean aesthetic and long-term reliability. The fork is made from carbon.

More attentive enthusiasts will recognise another distinctive detail in the way the rear stays meet the frame, a design inspired by the experience gained with its bigger sister, Ardenne. This is also where Doyenn-e earns the right to call itself an electric “All Road” bike. It is not a gravel bike, nor simply an e-road bike: the Dual Platform designation appears on the frame, providing the clearest possible summary of what this bicycle is really about.

Doyenn-e feels completely at home on asphalt, where it expresses its road-oriented character to the fullest, while its overall design also allows it to tackle smoother gravel roads without hesitation. It is a versatile approach for riders who do not want to choose between one road and another, but want to ride both on the same bike.

Powering Doyenn-e is the Polini E-P3+ EVO motor, a 250 W drive unit delivering 75 Nm of torque while weighing just 2.95 kg. These figures make it one of the lightest and most compact systems in its category, specifically designed for road and All Road use, where responsiveness matters just as much as outright power. The Polini system’s electronics are built on know-how rooted in motorsport, translated into smooth, natural torque delivery under pedalling and one of the quietest operating profiles in the segment.

The 500 Wh Polini EVO2 battery is fully integrated into the frame, creating a clean aesthetic while keeping the centre of gravity low. Meanwhile, the Polini TFT E-P3+ EVO display represents the brand’s latest-generation interface: a colour screen with Bluetooth connectivity for pairing with Garmin devices and other cycling computers, as well as direct connectivity with the new Polini app, allowing riders to customise assistance parameters and monitor every aspect of their riding data.

The SRAM Apex XPLR drivetrain, with an 11-44 cassette and an FSA single-chainring crankset with a 44-tooth chainring, gives Doyenn-e the range needed to tackle both long stretches of asphalt and changing gradients on gravel roads.

SRAM Apex disc brakes with 160 mm rotors provide consistent braking performance in all conditions, while Continental Competition tyres in a 700×45 size, finished in Coffee, reinforce the model’s All Road character, delivering comfort and grip on both asphalt and mixed surfaces.

An integrated-cable aluminium cockpit, a 31.6 mm aluminium seatpost and a Selle Italia Model X3 Boost saddle complete a specification designed for everyday riding as well as long-distance adventures.

Doyenn-e makes its debut in two colourways that express two different personalities of the same bicycle.

Arctic Grey matt is an ice-cool matte grey that transitions along the downtube and seatstays into a deep indigo-blue chameleon effect: a gradient inspired by the cold light of the first winter rides, giving the bike a restrained, almost mineral character.

Night Black glossy takes a different approach: a glossy black that transitions towards the head tube into a deep olive green, creating a tactile contrast between the depth of the paint and the brightness of the diagonal Fondriest logo, for a more dynamic and contemporary character.

Connecting the two colourways is a detail that speaks the same visual language in both versions: the touring and craftsmanship-oriented character that accompanies Doyenn-e on every type of road.

Click here for the Doyenn-e presentation at IBF.

Click here for the Doyenn-e technical specifications.

At IBF2026, Fondriest unveils its new All Road e-bike: asphalt and gravel are no longer two worlds to choose between, but a single road to ride.
