“Maurizio Fondriest nació en Cles (Trento), en el corazón de Val di Non, el 15 de enero de 1965. En sus doce temporadas como profesional, su palmarés cuenta con 69 victorias en carreras de carretera. Ganador de un Campeonato Mundial a solo 23 años, ganó la Copa del Mundo de ciclismo en dos ocasiones en ’91 y ’93, dominó la mítica Milán-San Remo en 1993 y logró una serie increíble de éxitos a lo largo de su carrera profesional en Clásicas y etapas del Giro de Italia y el Tour de Francia.
Hoy, como entonces, sigue siendo sobre todo un gran entusiasta de los deportes de pedal. Metódico y meticuloso en los aspectos técnicos de las bicicletas, su atención al detalle en lograr la posición de conducción “”perfecta”” es legendaria.
Después de una carrera profesional dedicada al deporte, coloca los valores familiares en primer lugar, pero la vida de un gran campeón también debe encontrar continuidad en el futuro. Por esta razón, Maurizio ahora sigue a numerosos ciclistas jóvenes que se acercan al mundo del ciclismo para transmitirles su vasta riqueza de consejos y experiencias a través de su extraordinario ejemplo.
Desde que comenzó a poner su nombre en los primeros cuadros, entendió que cada detalle de la bicicleta debería reflejar su personalidad y profesionalismo.
