Fondriest Ardenne conquista il podio: Rabensteiner 3° alla Gravel Sea Otter Europe di Girona

Un altro risultato di prestigio per il Team Torpado Kenda FSA, questa volta nel gravel internazionale. Sabato 19 settembre, sul percorso spagnolo della 226ERS Gravel Sea Otter Europe di Girona, Fabian Rabensteiner ha chiuso al terzo posto una gara maschile combattutissima, decisa da uno sprint a quattro dopo 109 chilometri e 940 metri di dislivello.

Il vincitore, lo specialista di cross-country Leon Kaiser (Avona), ha tagliato il traguardo in 3:03:57 con una media di 35,62 km/h. Rabensteiner ha chiuso a un solo secondo dal primo, insieme a Paul Voss (Rose Bikes), confermando il suo stato di forma e la competitività del setup con cui ha affrontato la gara.

Un podio internazionale come quello di Girona, ottenuto su un percorso impegnativo e in uno sprint ristretto a quattro atleti, è la conferma sul campo delle qualità che rendono l’Ardenne una delle proposte più interessanti nel panorama gravel di fascia alta: reattività nei momenti chiave della gara, tenuta della pedalata anche a ritmi elevati e un’impostazione telaistica che permette di rimanere competitivi fino all’ultimo metro.

Da segnalare anche l’ottimo settimo posto del compagno di squadra Jakob Dorigoni, reduce dal terzo posto al Mondiale MTB Marathon di Fiera di Primiero, a conferma della crescita costante del Team Torpado Kenda FSA in stagione.

A Champion and the Roads of Home
Maurizio Fondriest began cycling at the age of nine and became road cycling World Champion in 1988. However, his bond with Trentino goes far beyond the bike.

Today, he still rides the roads on which he grew up, rediscovering them in a different way. Autumn is one of his favourite times of year to get back in the saddle. He loves to ride among the fallen leaves, along quiet roads and surrounded by mountain landscapes, with time to stop, look around and reflect.

For Maurizio, cycling in Trentino is also a way of reconnecting with himself and with the place he calls home.
